2021.

In 2021 we created a new type system based on ancient and global scripts. The idea: language itself is the essence of "utopia and restlessness." Thus, in keeping with the motto of the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen, a unique look has been created: Powerful, optimistic and lively.

Our typeset for the 2021 festival makes use of three different ancient alphabets: phoenician, greek and latin. Most of the historic characters translate into completely different modern characters. The final set was executed with a quill pen and carefully digitized.
